Pediatric Complex Care Research

Children with special health needs often experience increased health care utilization and out-of-pocket costs. Pediatric care coordination integrates care delivery for these vulnerable patients and is associated with decreased utilization and reduced costs. Studies within pediatric complex care are focused on further examining the impact and reach of pediatric outpatient care coordination, including how utilization and costs are impacted in the first year of care coordination and how sedation procedure consolidation impacts patient outcomes and health care utilization.

Study Details

St. Luke's Children's Care Coordination Model: Retrospective Chart Review II

The purpose of this study is to describe the frequency, duration, and type of care coordination services received by pediatric patients and explore the relationship between care coordination services and patient utilization and characteristics.

A Retrospective Chart Review to Evaluate the Health Care Utilization and Cost Outcomes of the St. Luke's Children's Multiple Procedure Workgroup (SLC-MPW)

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the SLC-MPW on optimizing the costs and quality of care provided to pediatric patients. The SLC-MPW consists of key contacts within and outside of St. Luke's involved in providing care to medically complex pediatric patients who work to consolidate multiple sedated procedures into a single sedated procedure.
