Families are at the heart of the Family Care Unit at St. Luke’s Nampa. Suites are designed so mothers, babies, and families can be together throughout the birth experience. Even babies needing intensive care room in with their parents.
Each woman’s preferences are honored as much as possible—always with comfort, safety and family bonding in mind. It’s a wonderful environment for moms to recover, for babies to thrive, and for families to fulfill their hopes and dreams for their first moments together.
Because of COVID-19, in-person tours of the mother-baby unit have been canceled, and your birth experience may not be quite what you expected. Our policies and procedures for patients continue to change and evolve as we learn more about this virus, but our focus is always on keeping you safe and following your birth plan as closely as possible.
You’ll love our family care suites—comfortable, spacious rooms with beautiful views and lots of natural light—where you’ll labor, deliver, recover, and bond with your new baby. If you require a C-section, you’ll deliver in a state-of-the-art surgical suite before returning to your room.
Family care suites features:
Your care team includes not only your doctor, nurse-midwife, or doula, but caring nurses, breastfeeding specialists, and many others at St. Luke’s Nampa. Your nurses are trained to care for both you and your baby, with the goals of truly understanding what your family needs and guiding you in the care of your newborn.
If your baby needs a higher level of care, you’ll stay together in our newborn intensive care suites. You’ll be encouraged to be part of your baby’s health care team, supported by your baby’s NICU nurse, who will be your nurse as well. Your baby will receive care from the same doctors who staff our highest-level NICU at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise. If it becomes necessary, your baby will have immediate access and transport to regional specialists at the Children’s Hospital.
You take care of others, so take care of yourself. Let us be your partner in health, whether you're recovering from an injury, checking in for your annual exam, or enjoying an online class.
Because when you take care of yourself, everyone around you benefits.
